It's Alive!

After a brief hiatus of a few years, I’m taking a break (a brief hiatus) from other updates (sup) to comment on my latest obsession. Bon Appetite videos on youtube. For some reason I think they are great. I can’t seem to get enough. I was somewhat familiar with the editor-in-chief, Adam Rapoport, going back to his GQ days (pre-BA - that’s how I delineate Rapoport time ). His appearances on House of Carbs (a podcast I listen to that - happily for my time - only aires once a week) re-awakened (like the Force) my interest in Bon Appetite (even though I didn’t have much interest pre-BA). My point is just to say that Adam Rapoport’s presence at BA lent some credibility to the videos I began watching. Since I’ve started watching I’ve viewed many, many videos (we are in the hey-day of binging after all). I’m looking forward to their Thanksgiving offerings, and I wish I could try the pumpkin - pecan pie hybrid, but my favorite (even though I’m a fan of them all), my favorite is, “It’s Alive with Brad Leone”.

Brad makes me laugh. His humorosity (a word I just made up) is an objective truth, like most opinions (as demonstrated by many comment sections online). I’m kidding about objectivity and humor anyway - I don’t want Brad to get a big head (which might hurt his collection of hats). There’s also some great post-production work that adds to and comments on and enhances the experience of viewing.

For my money (which is none, but that shouldn’t deter anyone from watching) the best Episode of “It’s Alive” is the one (in Friend’s parlance) where Brad and Matt Matheson go noodling (fishing with your limbs!). It’s a two-parter so there’s plenty to see. And, since most of the videos are new to me, there’s still plenty left for me to see too.
